Policies & Procedures Pertaining to Covid-19

.) Please stay home if you are sick.  We ask that if you are sick, have been sick, or have been around someone who is or has been sick, or who has tested positive for COVID-19, that you avoid coming to class until there has been no symptoms of ANY illness for 14 days.  Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, headaches, sore throat, loss of taste or smell.  Healthcare workers caring for COVID-19 patients fall into this category.

.) Class sizes will be limited to 10 students until further notice.  Physical distancing protocols will be in place inside the building as we encourage students to stay 6 feet away from one another.  Parents, please discuss the importance of physical distancing with your child and help us enforce this policy.

.) Registration will be required to attend class.  Students will not be permitted to attend without registering, even if there is space in the class.  Registration will be available at https://barrie-karate.sparkuniversity.co or through the Student App.  This will be required for us to be able to manage our capacity and make sure we are offering a safe environment for all of our students and families.

.) Students will be able to register for Two in-person classes per week.  This will allow all of our students to have access to in-person training time with the required smaller class sizes.  As more students feel comfortable attending in-person classes, we will increase the amount of classes available.

.) Cancellation is required if you are unable to attend a class.  If you will not be attending a class you are registered for, it is your responsibility to cancel registration with enough time to allow someone else to take your place in that class.  You can cancel by logging back into https://barrie-karate.sparkuniversity.co s or by sending an email to info@barriekarate.com or by calling 705-812-8022.

.) Zoom classes will continue.  For our students who are not quite ready to attend in-person classes, we will continue offering virtual classes over zoom.  For our students who are attending in-person classes once per week, virtual classes are available for your additional classes each week and to keep you on track for belt promotions.

.) Class times will be 30 minutes in length.  This adjusted time will allow us to fully sanitize the training space between class.  Parents who are picking up students are expected to be on time.  Students will not be permitted to wait in the waiting area before or after class.  Note: Washrooms are available for emergencies only.  Change rooms will be closed until further notice.

.) Only students who are attending class will be permitted in the building at this time.  The waiting area will be closed to parents, siblings, and any other spectator, or student waiting for the next class.  We will monitor arrival and departure to ensure safety.  A private Zoom link will be provided for parents to be able to watch classes virtually.  Students should arrive in uniform.

.) Please do not congregate outside of the building.  While dropping off and/or waiting for your student, please be respectful of other parents and practice physical distancing.

.) All staff and students are required to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer when entering the building and after class.

.) There will be no loaner equipment at this time.  Equipment is available for purchase.

In order to attend in-dojo classes, all families must have submitted a Signed Covid-19 Waiver Form.
